Sky during twilight and at night over landscapes – stars, Aurora Australis, comets; daylight landscapes, birds, native animals, brumbies; experimental use of light and movement

Mark 0492 831 412 September 2024

Mark’s first images were captured with his mother’s box brownie camera during his early teens. After purchasing his first film SLR, he started experimenting with macro, landscapes, sunsets and night photography where he took his first star images. After moving to QLD and starting a family, his work became family focussed.

In 2015 Mark decided to ‘begin again’ in the digital world, re-visiting his passion for nature photography. Today, Mark captures the night sky, landscapes, birds and seascapes. He has become an award-winning photographer, with wins in The David Malin Awards – Nightscape and Overall winner, and Maldon Captured.

Mark has been involved in mentoring photographers living with a disability, supporting them to learn how to get the best out of their camera, and how to capture the world through their eyes. This work has led Mark into more experimentation with his own craft, moving beyond pure nature, and into surrealism.
